MEMSCAP's Standard Products Business Unit offers a wide range of multi-applications sensors for critical aerospace/defense, medical/biomedical and energy or industry related equipment.
Our MEMS-based sensors offer several advantages over more traditional components manufactured using traditional methods. Not only are size, mass and power consumption kept to a minimum, but at the same time unwanted effects, including signal drift and non-linearity, can be easily controlled due to the stable nature of micromachined silicon. |

These products are capable of extended lifetime operation where low drift over a wide temperature range (including thermal chocks) and resistance to extreme conditions, are a design requirement.
Our sensor solutions include components, sensor subsystems and modules applied to applications such as:
MEMSCAP's manufacturing and packaging facilities (in RTP, North Carolina and Skoppum, Norway) offer a capital manufacturing and packaging for high-performance cost-effective solutions.
Our commitment to customer satisfaction is ensured through our manufacturing chart and the high standards we maintain through our certifications, including ISO9001 certification. This is why we are today the provider for prestigious customers in the fields of aerospace, defence, medical equipment, and pharmaceutics and cosmetics.
Why MEMS sensors ?
MEMS can identify multiple physical parameters of their environment (such as pressure, acceleration,….). If MEMS technology has so much impact on sensors for mechanical variables, it is because it enables a greater mechan ical complexity on the smallest systems. |

However, the use of sensor technology is so widespread that specific needs have arisen, that need to be satisfied at an industrial level.. Among those needs are the perfection of performance (request from the industry and defence), a low cost (for high volume applications such as medical), the need for a extremely small size, the reliability of use over time and extreme conditions. MEMSCAP has successfully integrated those four aspects in our products.
Sensor Solutions
Since the acquisition, in December 2001, of Capto, former subsidiary of Norwegian Group SensoNor, and now Standard Product division of MEMSCAP, our Group offers a wide range of high added value sensors for multiple applications in severe environment, that are today mainly manufactured for and sold to the medical and aerospace industry.
